S.H.I.A MADRESSA 2009-2010

Vision Statement

The ever transforming world that we live in, demands a focus and farsightedness to keep abreast and up-to-date not only by technological/infrastructure up-gradation but also through incorporation of the latest teaching methodologies and techniques. The envision of the current administration of S.H.I.A Madressa is to equip the Institute with latest teaching technological aids and contemporary techniques, instilling and cultivating an academic culture that is comparable with the most modern institutes and educational facilities.

Our prime objective is to keep the interest of the parents on the forefront and succeed in creating an all-embracing environment of Islamic education. It should however be realized that in order to optimize learning and maximize attendance we need to be proactive in introducing modernization and promoting an atmosphere of learning that is based on utilization of modern educational tools, effective communication, active participation and teacher student interaction.

As Imam Ali (A.S) said, “Teach through Actions rather than Words!”

In this respect we are launching a two pronged strategy. On one side we are going to furnish our classrooms with appropriate furniture and teaching tools that include audio visual aids and equipments; whereas, on the other, we intend to launch an intensive teachers training program that shall endow the teachers with the ability to bring their tutoring skills and didactics at par with the modern teaching standards. A combination of the above with constructive and active student feedback shall prove to be highly conducive in achieving our target of evolving our Madressa into an exemplary educational body.

As a step in this direction we are currently introducing following improvements to the S.H.I.A. Madressa and Alhamadolillah all with our own Madressa generated funds.

1. New and updated syllabus for all classes (Kindergarten to Grade 6)

2. New furniture in kindergarten classroom with wall posters of Arabic Huroof (alphabets).

3. New furniture for Grade One.

4. New LCD 3 in 1(TV,DVD Player) monitor for all classes.

5. Multimedia Projector with screen.

6. Training of Trainers (TOT) and teach backs for Madressa teachers.

7. Launching of a quarterly ‘S.H.I.A. Madressa Newsletter’. The first issue will come out Inshallah in December, 2009
